October
October, queen of the Autumn ball,
Strolls into the hall.
She wears robes of every hue
Scarlet maple, yellow aspen, and purple aster.
She dines at her Majesty’s table
Sipping spicy hot cider
Indulging in Panera’s squash soup
And sampling spicy pumpkin pie.
Sated, she rises and,
Followed by a train of admirers
Exits stage left
To avoid the chill of
November’s drab entrance.
