Distinguished Ancestor
When we planned a trip to France in1979, Lloyd’s cousin urged us to go to Troyes, France where, in the local museum, was a sculpture of their maternal great-great grandfather.
So in Paris we rented a Renault and drove 70 miles northeast to Troyes. After several attempts, they understood enough of my fractured high school French to escort us into a locked facility to view the impressive sculpture.
Next, we visited the cemetery where the citizens of Troyes had erected a special tombstone to honor him.
When we returned to Paris, we located a biography of him in the National Library.
